Led by artists Laura Tarnoff and Mickey Bond, this class pushes beyond comfort and into deep, instinctive expression. Through a series of dynamic, emotionally driven warm-ups and challenges, you’ll work without reference images or predefined results. Instead, you’ll respond to energy, sensation, and impulse—making bold marks, building layers, disrupting them, and rebuilding again.
As the work unfolds, abstract forms may surface into figures, memories, places, or symbols charged with personal meaning. You’ll actively apply essential principles of composition—balance, rhythm, focal points—not as rules to follow, but as tools to shape raw emotion into visual language. Expect to scrape, alter, destroy, and transform your painting multiple times as you learn to trust the process of emergence rather than control.

The Art of Letting Go: Intuitive Painting is designed to help you create work that speaks from that place. With fresh creative challenges developed for 2026, this experience invites you to confront creative blocks, access your hidden inner voice, and translate emotion into artwork that resonates long after the paint dries.
Spend a relaxed, art-filled Sunday at Artful Soul with “Mimosas and a Masterpiece,” a monthly painting party led by Santa Fe artists Mickey Bond and Laura Tarnoff. It’s the perfect way to unwind, enjoy time with friends, share a special date, or simply treat yourself to something new. No art experience needed—just bring your curiosity and we’ll take care of the rest.
Sip a mimosa, enjoy light brunch snacks, and settle into our boutique studio. You’re also welcome to bring your own favorite beverage or treat.
Artful Soul Creative Experiences is located on the ground floor in the back of the Santa Fe Village Mall. 227 Don Gaspar Ave Santa Fe, NM 87501. There is no public parking at our location. Park on the street or the Water Street Parking lot.
