'Let's Build Fam' is a 10 part series at Mimm Studios in partnership with Art Council England & Nottingham Can with Q&A's and Performances from industries professionals exploring Global Sounds in our intimate loft space working along side some of the best grassroots promoters in Nottingham.

For our next installment in celebration of Diwali we shine a light on the impact South Asian artists have had on the underground music scene. Welcoming a trailblazer Raji Rags who currently runs OTIH Records and has previously A&Rʼd for the likes of Warp Records, R&S Records, Bleep as well as being previous Head of Music for Boiler Room.

Freshta is a multi-talented artist who has become a rising star in the music and fashion world. As a DJ, she has gained a loyal following with her club-ready electronic music sets that feature a signature bass-heavy sound as well as incorporating sonic influences from her Middle-Eastern & South Asian heritage.

We also welcome up-and-comers: Harpriya, fresh from her India tour; grime viral sensation Medley P; Cold Brewed founder M75 & South-East London MC AMVN on support.

About Raji Rags

With his residency on East Londonʼs iconic NTS Radio, Raji has established a firm fanbase for his eclectic tastes with his solo shows as well as b2b mixes with the likes of Barker (Ostgut Ton), Tim Reaper, Neffa-T, Tash LC, Sonia Calico, Forest Drive West, Elijah and more.

As a host for Boiler Room, CDR, RA, Classic Album Sundays and Barbican - he has interviewed the likes of Peggy Gou, Honey Dijon, Kenny Dope, Octo Octa, Floating Points, Kae Tempest, Moses Boyd, Black Midi, Flava D, and many more.

Raj is a member of the Bubble Chamber collective ‒ a clandestine rave squad that have hosted underground parties with the likes of Errorsmith, DJ Assault, Hudson Mohawke, Willow, Barker, Lyzza, Fauzia in non-traditional venues such as pub backrooms, a South London sex dungeon and a converted car garage.

Raj is also a co-founder of Livinʼ Proof ‒ the iconic London hip-hop party and DJ collective that hosted the UK debuts of A$AP Rocky, Danny Brown, and early career performances from the likes of Action Bronson, Schoolboy Q, Joey Badass, A$AP Ferg, Hudson Mohawke and countless others.

Raj is currently a resident DJ for London’s Corsica Studios where he regularly shares line-ups with some of the most respected names in electronic music.

Refusing to be restricted to a genre or style ‒ Raj has established himself as one of the most pivotal figures in the London music landscape and one of itʼs most trusted DJs in skills and selection.
