Please join me in welcoming Jordana del Feld to the Centro Cultural de La Raza! Jordana will teach the pre-milonga class and then share her music with us for our first milonga of February! As always, we will have a great dance floor, the company of good friends, and special treats for the evening! The pre-milonga class with Jordana will cover musicality, starting at 7:30 pm. The floor opens for dancing at 8:45 pm.
In Jordana's words:
"EMBRACE THE MUSIC:
We will listen deeply to some classic tangos, learning to understand and play meaningfully with their structure. We will explore movement and stillness, balance, dynamic body tone, breath, and levels, as musical communication tools. We'll play with the musical choices we make, experiment with sharing our musicality with one another, and most of all, have fun.
Jordana has been exploring the philosophy of tango throughout the world for sixteen years.
As a dancer, she explores the honesty of the moment.
As a teacher, she helps dancers embrace their own dances with curiosity and compassion, so they can communicate actively with their partners and enjoy their best dance yet.
As a DJ, she provides trustworthy and emotionally balanced evenings of danceable music that encourage dancers to relax and share the moment deeply.
And as a tango therapist, she helps people actively enjoy their relationships with others and with themselves, to the fullest.
Primary teachers include Sebastian Arce, Ariadna Naveira, Guillermo García, and Virginia Pandolfi.
Some cities Jordana has taught / dj'd in include: Berlin, Chicago, London, Madison, Marin, New Orleans, Oakland, San Francisco, Seattle, Tarbes, Valle d'Aosta, and more."
Pre-milonga class: $20 ($15 for our friends south of the border)
Milonga: $20 ($15 for our friends south of the border)
Class and Milonga: $30 ($20 for our friends south of the border)
Jordana will offer private classes during her stay in San Diego. To coordinate, please contact Elena Shilova.
Milonga Recuerdo is traditionally held on the first and third Mondays of the month, honoring and remembering the germinal song by Osvaldo Pugliese, with Julio de Caro's arrangements, that opened up a line of exploration of tango."
