The first ๐ช๐ฎ๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ event in 2026 is the ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ช๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ - a 5km and 10km fun run or walk on the 17th January.Registration is outside Wakefield Police station from 2.15pm to 3pm.
3:10pm: Start for 10km walkers.
(Let us know at registration if you are a casual walker and you can go early, ahead of the speed walkers at 3:10pm)
3.30pm: Start for ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ 5k competitors and 10k runners.
It's free for juniors and youth students & WH and AN Club members,
otherwise $๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ธ & $๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ธ.
All welcome! This is a lovely course on footpaths and rural roads through Wakefield and the surrounding countryside.
It can be very hot during this summer event and there's a real risk of overheating when you're out running or walking. Remember to hydrate well during the day, as well as before and during the event. There will be a water station at 2.5km and stations with water and cold flannels at 5km & the finish.
Waimea Harriers reserves the right to change or shorten the course, or change the time or even cancel the event depending on the weather conditions on the day.
Join us after the event for a drink and spot prizes of $200 in shopping vouchers and frozen chooks at the Wakefield Hotel.
