About this Event
You are invited to attend the 3rd annual MillHouse MuralFest at the Historic McKinney Cotton Mill! MuralFest is open to the public with free admission with no ticket needed. Food and drinks, including adult beverages, will available for purchase on site at the event.
VIP tickets are available which include admission to the pre-event artists reception on Friday, May 31st, a commemorative glass, a festival t-shirt, and designated VIP shaded seating by the music stage.
Bring the family and settle in to watch muralists paint original designs on the historic Cotton Mill while listening to live music on the outside stage. You can purchase adult beverages at the Boozy Bar truck or purchase food and ice cream from Luchas Taco Truck and the Oopsie Scoopsie Truck. You can take home your own original mobile mural to attach to your home, fence, or business by bidding on your favorite artist or design that will be completed during the festival.

A rtist statement: My art uses graphic design elements such as flat planes of color and linework to display the vibrancy found in nature. Crisp shapes work in tandem with organic texture to create an illustrative style. My mural work can be found in Fort Worth on a 14ft x 20ft flood levee along the Trinity River depicting an underwater view of the river, an 8ft x 16ft mural for the Bedford Fire Department, as well was a 10ft x 25ft linework mural depicting sights in DFW in a restaurant in Grapevine.

A rtist statement: My style is vibrant and illustrative. The landscape represents rural TX. The portrait is of Black people from McKinney. They represent the existence /contributions of the Black community although jobs and resources weren't afforded to them like some at the Mckinney Millhouse during the early 1900s.

Artist statement: My artistic style captures the beautiful yet sometimes desolate spirit of Texas. Strokes of bold, unexpected color enliven the earthy neutrals of the landscape. This mural will capture the vibrant colors and landscape of the American Southwest, rendered in the style and pattern of the iconic Oaxacan animal sculptures of Mexico.

A rtist statement: I like to use lots of color and imagine otherworldly places or what a bird or a beetle might say with color. I have a personal art instagram called @artjelly_ which is a phrase that I think sums up the style that I basically dreamed up and am using.
