Jeffrey Gibson’s Venice Biennale exhibition closes soon in Italy!Join us at the Portland Art Museum on Sun, November 24 for a free all-day celebration to mark the final day of the artist’s historic U.S. Pavilion presentation, "the space in which to place me," curated and co-commissioned by the Portland Art Museum and SITE SANTA FE.
Immerse yourself in a day of art, community, creativity, and conversations about the impact that the project will have on Museum programs and exhibitions to come.
Activities include: Native American dance by some of the dancers who were in Venice, including jingle dancer Sarah Ortegon HighWalking (Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho); Anthony Hudson (Grand Ronde/Siletz)(who performed in Venice as drag clown Carla Rossi) will share reflections and read from his new book; art-making sessions; inspiring talks, and a special virtual appearance from Jeffrey Gibson.
