A day to Celebrate that we have survived despite genocide, assimilation, displacement and the ongoing effects of colonisation. A day also of mourning that commemorates the arrival of the ship and Captain Arthur Phillip on 26th January 1788, planted the British flag in to the ground and declared the land a new colony under the British empire, and begin the systematic destruction of the first peoples of this country culture and existence not equal to humans. A day celebrated as Australia Day, our sovereignty was never ceded and it always was and always will be Aboriginal land. All are welcome to join with us in solidarity to march for changing the date, truth telling, acknowledging past and present and work together to make things better.Gathering at Langtree Mall stage to march to Jaycee. Blak Art Markets, traditional dancing, inspirational speeches and free bbq.
