You’re invited to discover WorkSafe's purpose to reduce workplace harm as Victoria's occupational health and safety regulator. This session will explore the basics of WorkSafe's role in harm prevention and enforcement. WorkSafe will address local issues, welcome questions from the audience and explain how to create safer workplaces.
9.00am – 9.50am: How to support injured Victorians back to work
An interactive case study on a person injured at work who submitted a workers compensation claim for a mental injury. We’ll discuss employers Return to Work planning obligations and provide an opportunity to ask questions about planning for an employee’s return to work.
10.00am – 10.50am: – Welding fumes and occupational hygiene
Join WorkSafe’s Occupational Hygienists as they discuss what the recent changes to welding fumes exposure standards mean. You'll also hear about what controls are available to help reduce your exposure to welding fumes.
We'll have time for any questions you may have at the end of the session.
11.00am – 11.50am: Value of Health and Safety representatives (HSRs)
Learn about the importance and value of health and safety representatives (HSRs) for your organisation. The session will focus on consultation, representation of employees on health and safety matters and the value of HSR's in this process.
We'll have time for any questions you may have at the end of the session.
11.50am – 12.30pm: Lunch
