About this Event

Organized by the Liszt Institute New York a unique monodrama will take place on November 4, 2025 at 7:30PM at the Hungarian House of New York featuring Hungarian actor András Sütő.

The monodrama, produced on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of Miklós Radnóti's birth and the 80th anniversary of World War II, recalls the great Hungarian poet's last journey to Borec (or Bor) labor camp, where he spent his last days - writing until the last moment.

Through the act of the poems from the Bor Notebook, we can better understand and empathize with the poet's pain and the consolation he sought despite his external circumstances. Miklós Radnóti wrote the poems in the last months of his life, in the labor camp at Bor therefor the poems are personal in tone, revealing the poet's inner world and the external suffering he endured.

The poems in the notebook are significant and moving works of the Hungarian literature. The performance commemorates this piece of national memory and pays tribute to the life of Miklós Radnóti.
