Michael Zumblaskas Plans:

As an army veteran, I know what it means to have a shared purpose. Politicians have lost that sense of patriotism. January 6 made it worse. Use of violence and intimidation to change election results is terribly wrong. It’s time to move on and repair relations in a fractured country.

Extremists brought soaring crime… 80,000 homeless… a decaying economy. They are removed from American roots - Roosevelt… Eisenhower… Kennedy.

We need leaders who solve problems - not misguided  extremists. We need to stop the crime wave keeping us in fear and preventing millions of wary tourists from visiting and supporting nearly 300,000 jobs. The WWII generation cooperated and built prosperity. We need to restore such patriotism. Read my plans.

ECONOMIC RENEWAL

I present an innovative and comprehensive economic renewal package addressing both the national and local economy. From outsourcing to inflation to restoring domestic manufacturing, here is a long-term plan to bring economic prosperity, independence from foreign supply chains, and progress toward a clean energy economy.

FOREIGN POLICY GOALS

A commentator noted: last month we gave Ukraine $1 billion in aid but gave Russia $30 billion for oil and gas. U.S. foreign policy must address this and these matters: 1) cripple Russia economically for its barbaric invasion of Ukraine by helping Europe quickly convert to liquid natural gas (LNG), 2) end China’s unfair trade practices and our dependence on basic needs, 3) affirm support for Israel and the fight against terrorism, 4) declare drug cartels in Mexico and Central America are terrorist killers of millions of Americans by drug addiction and dismantle these criminal cartels, 5) stop Iran/North Korea nuclear proliferation, 6) confront narco Central American states and responsibly manage illegal immigration, 7) protect the dollar’s currency reserve status, 8) end enormous trade deficits and outsourcing.

CRIME, JUSTICE & SAFETY

Overall city crime year-to-date is up nearly 44%. Restoring safe streets and subways will take far more than a little tweaking by Albany on bail. It will take major change and my congressional opponent, leaning towards progressives soft on crime, won’t provide the leadership needed to restore safety. We must restore common sense policing that respects civil rights, firmly handles crime, and requires judges to set bail that won’t release dangerous people.

COVID: RECOVERY TO NORMALCY

Remain vigilant and promote treatments, but downgrade from pandemic to endemic (less restrictive). President chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci recently stated on The PBS NewsHour that we are “out of the pandemic phase.“ But we need to move more quickly to normalcy for we risk permanent overreaction. Plummeting cases and deaths reinforce this. Covid has mutated many times. We cannot live as if it were the same killer it was two years ago. We risk becoming a hypochondriac society overreacting to each virus mutation. I met people who were afraid to touch a pen (as if touching it would K*ll them). This is the legacy of years of fear trumpeted by experts oblivious to widespread trauma. Covid has mutated many times. Is the latest mutation deadly like the virus of two years ago or just a normal, harmless flu? We see troubled students, road rage, a crime epidemic, trauma. Its time to repair psychological harm.

INFRASTRUCTURE: SUBWAY, NYCHA, TUNNELS, SCHOOLS

As your congressman I will put my heart and soul into obtaining federal funds to improve our subways, buses and infrastructure. From aging water/sewage pipes to poor subway service to tunnels supporting transportation, I will diligently work to keep our city vibrant.
