Featuring Robbie Lavën and Mike Garner on acoustic guitars, resonators, mandolin, fiddle, lap steel, washboard, and Grant Willis on bass and tuba.Since emerging from the Auckland folk scene Robbie has become one of New Zealand's most respected musicians, playing a host of instruments in styles ranging from folk to rock, Latin to jazz.
Along with partner Marion Arts he spent a decade abroad, playing major festivals in Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Ireland. They currently lead Gypsy jazz ensemble Bonjour Swing.
Mike is a well-known NZ Blues singer and songwriter. He has a wealth of blues experience over nearly 40 years, having played in Europe, Australia, NZ and the Pacific, Japan and Kathmandu in Nepal. He has made 6 albums and won international awards for his song writing.
Grant is a seasoned musician with over 30 years of experience. He played bass in a swing trio, performed on tuba in a Dixie band for 15 years, and played electric bass in a '60s cover band for 7 years. He also spent 6 years playing tuba in a Latin band, was part of a big band for 2 years, and contributed to about 10 theater productions in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast.
