The Mike Carney Toyota Paluma Push 2022 will be bigger and better. We have tested out the new Event HQ and event format in 2021 and everyone loved it, so we will do it again, with all the extras!
Riders have the option to camp at Hidden Valley on Friday night, attend the race on Saturday morning and once they have done the hard yards on the course, they can join in for the After Party at the Hidden Valley Cricket Oval.
There will be camping right at race HQ (Friday & Saturday night), live music, food truck fiesta, bonfire and beers. For the riders who just can't get enough of it, a Sunday Recovery Race will be held the next morning (approx. 20km).
Make sure to book your camping tickets and register for the events on our website.
The Paluma Push is one of North Queensland's most iconic XC Mountain Bike races. It started in 2002 and is held in the North Queensland winter months each year. The event is an individual challenge as well as a great social ride.
Riders start in the dreamy Paluma Village, following a course that winds its way through lush World Heritage Rainforest, past the Paluma Dam, down into shady big timber and open cattle country and finishes at the historic tin mining settlement of Hidden Valley.
Take the challenge and do the Push. Be it your first time or your 10th, you are in it to win it or just riding with mates.
The Push offers 4 distances to suit all levels of skill and experience.
If it is your first endurance mountain bike race the 42km Recreational Course will be the most ideal and suitable course. This course is recommended for the novice (6 months or more of regular riding) to intermediate mountain bike riders with a good level of fitness and reasonable skill level.
The 53km course is a step up, if you've done the 42km Recreational Course before and/or are looking to further challenge your mountain bike skills, then the Intermediate Course is for you. It’s hard work but will be rewarding. This course is recommended for experienced riders with a good level of fitness and a competent skill level for single track sections.
The 70km course is the ultimate mountain bike challenge. It has long solid climbs and descents as well as technical sections along the way. This course is recommended for very experienced and very fit riders.
Good news, we will keep the 100km course which turned out to be a great challenge for the seasoned Push riders.
