The MMAP is a series of artist community-generated fundraisers, a grassroots effort to raise funds for two initiatives that directly address the immediate and direct supportive needs of immigrants in our community. The first initiative is to raise money to fund the basic necessities of a migrant family of five currently living in a Brooklyn shelter. The second initiative is to provide crowdfunding to a burgeoning anthology to amplify the silenced voices of young Black migrants in NYC. The Series/Campaign’s goal is to raise $3,000 (per fundraising event) to be split amongst both initiatives.
All fundraising events hosted by MMAP are meant to bring people together, so expect music, food, activities, raffles, poetry, artwork, performances, jam sessions, or even workshops. We want to share the vast creativity within migrant communities and beyond as we support those in need.
