The Great Northern Festival and Silverwood Park, in partnership with Melanin in Motion, invite you to break out of your winter routine and join in a free, family friendly evening of winter fun celebrating the halfway point between winter and spring - Groundhog Day!Around the Visitor Center:
- Catch a live performance all about weird weather from Brains On! - the award-winning science podcast for kids and curious adults.
- With Silverwood's educators, learn about climate solutions anyone can practice, and save the state of Minnesota in a fun strategy game created by local artist, Charlie McCarron.
- Warm up around campfires and enjoy complimentary s'mores.
Outdoor activities include:
- Join Melanin in Motion on guided, light-up mountain bike rides along park trails. All equipment provided.
- Play a round of frozen footgolf though an illuminated course designed by artists and the public!
- Explore frozen Silver Lake on cosmic kicksleds, luminary walking trails, or (if ice surface conditions allow) attendees are invited to bring their ice skates to enjoy a dazzlingly lit rink.

This event is free and open to all ages. Drop-ins are welcome.
Silverwood Park is accessible by public transportation. There is also free parking available onsite.
