This tour of Midtown St. Louis will walk visitors through the history of how the Victorian neighborhood transformed into a theater district.
About this Event

Midtown St. Louis was once a wealthy residential neighborhood at the edge of the city in the late 19th century. However, as the industry and entertainment districts of downtown expanded westward, the area became one of the city’s premier theater districts by the early 20th century. Explore the mixture of historic 19th century homes, early 20th century theaters, and even a building designed by HH Richardson, while exploring the rich history of the Midtown neighborhood. We will also be going into the Cupples House if it is open to the public on the day of the tour. The tour starts right in the heart of Midtown at Strauss Park.

Tickets purchased in advance are $20, up to 1 da before the even. Same day tickets are $10 more. Tickets are non refundable, unless otherwise stated. If you miss the event, you can use your ticket to attend a future event free of charge. If you have trouble finding the tour, be sure to contact St. Louis History and Architecture immediately, within 10 minutes of the advertised start time. Tours always give 10 minutes in case of late arrivals.
