About this Event

On Wednesday, February 5, the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and Clements Center for National Security will host a fireside chat with former U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation John Sullivan about his experiences in this role and his memoir, "Midnight in Moscow: Lessons from the Front Lines of Russia's War Against the West." The talk will be moderated by Strauss Center Director Adam Klein.

In addition to discussing the powerful anecdotes within his book on the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 from his perspective on the ground, Sullivan will also share his perspectives on contemporary topics, including the prospects for ending the Russia-Ukraine war, the future of Russia under and after Putin, the foreign policy outlook for President Trump's second term, and more.

This event is free and open to the public and registration is REQUIRED. Please note: Registration does not guarantee admission, as seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 5:00 pm. A government-issued photo ID matching your registration will be required to enter (UT Austin students, faculty, and staff may use their UT Austin photo ID, if needed).
