Middleton Hall is a building full of history which has been carefully preserved over the years walking round you can visibly see the different time periods of the building.
The history of Middleton Hall spans over one thousand years over the years there has been many people come and go but over the years there has been a Tudor explorer, a Duchess renowned for her love of music, The Commander of the Norman Cavalry at the Battle of Hastings, a Medieval Lord who escaped a prison sentence and Sir Francis Willoughby.
The hall sadly fell into disrepair and was purchased by The Trust in the 1980s. Middleton Hall is now being brought back to its former glory.
The most famous spirit at Middleton Hall, The Grey Lady of Middleton Hall. She has been seen by staff and visitors on so many occasions and has been said to have conversations with guests who believed her to be a member of staff dressed in a costume.
People have heard the sound of dragging for no apparent reason and items in the hall have been known to move around. People have heard voices talking and whispering when there is no one else around. There has been taps, bands and doors opening and closing on their own
