Waleed Abdulhamid
The music of Waleed Abdulhamid is where the ancient meets the modern. It draws its rhythmic spirit from deep African roots and brings together a variety of languages and musical traditions from across the continent. You can call it jazz, you can call it fusion—it's a blend of African styles shaped into something new. His music moves beautifully and rhythmically, enriched by the modern harmonic sensibilities of today.
As an expert in rhythms born from ancient places, Waleed studies the essence of Black music—the birthplace of so much of the world’s sound—and this understanding shapes the way he creates. His work uplifts, giving audiences a powerful experience that celebrates the beauty of Africa’s diversity, combined with the vibrant colors of contemporary jazz.
