About MCM
Mid Century Modern (MCM) is a Seattle-based alternative jazz duo featuring emcee/producer King Khazm and singer/songwriter, Jesse Kogita. Merging their backgrounds in jazz and hip hop, MCM blend genres and ideas, mixing digital and live elements to create original music that sounds simultaneously vintage and futuristic.
"Biorhythms" is MCM's first full-length album and it is an important representation of their respective musical backgrounds in jazz and hip hop, "Representing both hip hop and jazz authentically in our music is super important because it's where we come from. And we can't wait to debut our music at Earshot this year."
Earlier in 2025, MCM released their second album, “Cinema”, a 6-song EP inspired by '50s and '60s filmmakers such as John Cassavettes, Alfred Hitchcock, Akiro Kurosawa, and Stanley Kubrick.
In 2023, their debut EP, “Stolen Moments” gained support and airplay from KEXP who pegged MCM's fist single, “Cry Me A River” a Song of the Day. Shortly after, independent and college radio stations across North America spinned the single boosting it up the charts on the NACC Top 200 (peaking at #184), NACC Top Hip Hop (peaking at #7), NACC Top 200 ADDS (#12 most added), NACC Top Hip Hop ADDS (#1 most added), RapAttackLives Top 30 (peaking at #1), and Urban Influencer Rap Charts (peaking at #7).
As solo recording and performing artists, Jesse Kogita and King Khazm's musical journeys have spanned over two decades respectively, with both artists performing and touring in independent circuits throughout the Pacific Northwest, United States, and globally at events such as Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Hempfest, World's Fair 2020, Gathering of MC's, Museum of Pop CulTure, and Strictly Street Malaysia.
