About this Event
In this seminar, we’ll explore how landscaping brings mid-century and postmodern homes to life, especially in a city like Rochester, where these iconic styles have shaped neighborhoods for decades.
We’ll explore how to pair plants and materials, such as gravel, steel, and sculptural elements, with flat planes and open layouts. Plus, we’ll dive into some smart design principles from the 1945–1970 period: blending symmetry with playful asymmetry, using geometric patterns, and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor vibe.
This isn’t just design theory, it’s about celebrating Rochester’s rich history of architecture and learning how to build landscapes that honor and enhance it!
