About this Event
It is designed for anyone who wishes to gain a foundational understanding of Word whether they are truly new to its use or simply wish to “fill in the gaps” of their knowledge.
The class format will provide time for the instructor to recommend best practices, explain new concepts, introduce shortcuts, and answer questions. Participants will have time to apply new skills to realworld scenarios without feeling rushed or frustrated.

- Navigating and performing common tasks in Word, such as opening, viewing, editing, saving, and printing documents
- Using best practices and shortcuts in Word
- Formatting text and paragraphs
- Preventing and/or troubleshooting common formatting frustrations
- Performing repetitive operations efficiently using tools such as Find and Replace, Format Painter, and Styles
- Enhancing lists by sorting, renumbering, and customizing list styles.
- Creating and formatting tables
- Inserting graphic objects into a document, including symbols, special characters, illustrations, pictures, and clip art
- Changing the overall appearance of a page through page borders and colors, watermarks, headers and footers, and page layout
- Using Word features to help identify and correct problems with spelling, grammar, readability, and accessibility
