About this Event
Instructor - Jonathan Dietz
Jonathan Dietz has been teaching science and engineering, especially electronics, at all levels from kindergarten through college for over 25 years, most recently at the Acera School in Winchester, at American International College, and in the Engineering Design Workshop during summers at MIT.
Class Description
In this project, participants will construct, wire, and program a simple autonomous robot car, using a MicroBit microcontroller and Kitronik robotics board.
Time permitting, we can add an ultrasonic sensor to avoid obstacles, a Neopixel strip for visual indications, and a wireless remote control.
Skills learned include use of basic electronics tools, and programming of the Microbit using MakeCode block-based coding.
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $75. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash or by check.
