Microbiology Camp for Kids at Old Dominion University

This summer your child can discover the fascinating world of microbiology at our Summer Microbiology Camp for students in grades 4-6! Held at Old Dominion University, this hands-on camp teaches students to use microscopes, grow bacterial cultures, and identify unknown microbes. Campers will explore industrial applications by using microbes to make sauerkraut and other food products. They will also develop social skills as they work with other children to investigate a bacterial outbreak. While on campus they will have opportunities to experience campus life by visiting the university dining hall, touring campus, and engaging with professors in weekly research symposiums.
