Michigan Songwriter's ShowcaseIn an effort to highlight some of our great native talent, encourage a creative local venue and have some regular fun, the Michigan Theatre of Jackson will present a semi monthly Sunday afternoon Michigan Songwriter's Showcase.
The Showcase will feature some songwriting mainstays from around our state, as well as some new songwriting blood that might surprise you. It will be hosted by notable musician Ray Kamalay. Ray brings over 40 years of writing songs and performing throughout the midwest. Ray is a music and history scholar and writes songs that evoke the finest of memories and some of life's most absurd moments.
The event will take place in the confines of one of Michigan's most historic playhouses, the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, now entering its tenth decade. This stunning showplace, newly renovated and refitted for comfort and sound, is the perfect soundstage to feature this homegrown talent to an audience at ease with food and liquid refreshment.
Also on the stage will be Michigan singer songwriter, Audra Kubat, Jan Krist, Andy Baker, and Jackson local, Brian Tucker. This show is free for all members (become a member) and $5 for non-members. Donations and sponsorships are welcomed.
