Michigan CPL

This is for the person wanting to feel informed, prepared and confident with thorough, quality training. Join us to laugh the day away in comfortable chairs while meeting the legal requirement to apply for a Michigan concealed pistol permit. Class takes place in an office setting with 10 or less participants soon to be all on a first name basis.

INSTRUCTORS

Have the advantage of learning from two self defense experts - one male, one female - both parents. Because both are certified and teach a plethora of other methods of self defense (with only 5 star reviews), that makes this class a safe place to ask any question.

TEACHING STYLE

Small class sizes means a personal approach. Enjoy your training coming alive with tailored content personal to your lifestyle, values and needs. There's more retention when it makes sense and it's a good time. Expect a safe enviorment to ask questions and enjoy relevant conversations around integrating what we are learning into daily life.

COST

The cost of your training is 105; 20 reserves your seat, and 85 is paid the day of training.

Additional costs to consider include the range fee (25), an optional rental fee (35) and your lunch.

Building reads: The Drew Colburn Real Estate Group Entrance is through the back door near the parking.

Parking: Parking is found behind the building by going down W Main St Alley (the back alley) found off of Griggs St or Albertson St. Please note: The one spot against the neighboring building is kept open for our neighbors. Feel free to double up on other parking spaces, if necessary. Also, for private groups feel free to park in the handicapped spot.

FOOD

Lunch: While coffee, tea, water and bars are available, we encourage you to bring food. We take short breaks throughout the day, but there is no official lunch break. You are welcome to eat at any time and encouraged to bring a lunch or get Door Dash or delivery. When finished with the classroom portion (around 230-3p) we head to the range and there may be time to grab drive thru.

RANGE

Fee: $25/person paid directly to the range, includes target and eye and ear protection.

EQUIPMENT

Rentals: We conveniently provide rentals at a fraction of the cost of the range and gladly take care of everything for you. $35 covers all you need. If you didn't add it already, you have the option to add it the day of class.

Have your own? DO NOT BRING IT INTO THE CLASSROOM. Please leave them in your vehicle. To be legal, your "items" should be stored separately and in the trunk of your vehicle. While our instructors aim to be helpful, we are unable to assist you in taking apart or putting together your "equipment" before, during or after range time. If you struggle to operate your "equipment" for any reason, we will provide a rental to keep class moving and ending on time, and you will be expected to cover the $35 rental fee after the range time and before receiving your certificate.

Extras: Please have at least 30 rounds of what's appropriate and necessary for your "equipment". It's never a bad thing to have extra just in case. If you have trouble with your "extras" or don't have enough, we will get you set up with a rental to keep class moving smoothly. Again, please be prepared to pay the $35 rental fee after the range and before receiving your certificate.

CERTIFICATE

Your certificate: The certificate you receive from Citizen Defense Training is not your CPL. This certificate certifies you meet the legal requirement to apply for your CPL. Instructions for application will be covered in class as well as included in your "Next Steps" email after class.
