Native fish can be just as exciting as tropical fish! Indiana and Michigan are home to amazing killis, darters, minnows, catfish, and many other exciting small fish. September 28th is Indiana's free fishing day, so no fishing licence is require, but if you intend on taking any fish home you need to have a valid Indiana fishing license. Dave Hemmerlein will be give our club talk on September 20th about native fish as well!We will meet at Leeper Park on the east side of 933 near the rose garden. We will potentially move to other locations to go after other species later on.
What to bring:
-a net
-shoes you don't mind getting wet
-a towel and change of clothes!
-some bags or buckets for bringing fish home
The club will have a couple seins, extra nets, etc. Don't worry if you've never gone collecting before, just come ready to get wet, or if you are unable to get it the water just come!
