Opening will be Michelle Swan, who was introduced to the guitar by her singer/songwriter father in her early years. and got the music bug early on in life. After studying classical musical and clarinet performance at Towson State University, she entered the DC/MD/VA singer/songwriter music scene in 1990 performing at open-mics and coffeehouses. Over the past three decades she has elegantly honed her songwriting and performance skills,. Of late, Michelle won Mid-Atlantic Songwriting contest’s gold award and 3rd best song overall in 2023 & 2024 for her songs Enemy In My Scope and It All Came to Pass. Self-reflective and acutely observant, Michelle deftly weaves lyric and note together to create intensely personal songs that tell of sentiments and circumstances nonetheless familiar to all. The second set will feature Maria Quiles, who played a Backyard Concert in 2023. She is a multicultural singer/songwriter from the Bay Area of California who has performed across the U.S. Known for her tender yet powerful voice and vivid lyrical depictions of love, life, struggle and hope. She brings warmth and a no-nonsense presence to the stage — weaving vulnerability, humor, and storytelling into every performance.
