Soprano Tediyra Barton Harris presents a program of music that features a wide spectrum of art songs by African American composers, accompanied by pianist Michael McNeill. Ranging from the lush harmonies of William Grant Still, Margaret Bonds, and Florence Price, soaring melodies by Undine Smith Moore, and abstract funk/blues by David Baker and Noel Da Costa, the afternoon will also illuminate poems by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, Mari Evans, Sappho, and William Shakespeare.
