Michael McDowell, Baton Rouge composer and pianist, is ready to deliver for the audience attending the 2nd of the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee’s performances in its 2025 Performing Arts Series. The performance on February 8, at the Julien Poydras Center in New Roads, LA will be a night to remember! Doors open at 6 pm, concert begins at 7 pm.Classically trained, Michael grew up listening to the piano stylings of Elton John and George Winston and began composing for piano before he was a teenager. He defines his unique style of virtuosic improvisation as “playing on the edge”. Without a single sheet of music in front of him, McDowell weaves selections into a musical tapestry that energizes, amazes, and inspires his audience.
