Michael Jerome Browne is a Montreal-based blues and folk singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose genuine interpretations of traditional and original material have been critically acclaimed far and wide. His mastery of American roots idioms and warm, unaffected singing have endeared him to audiences across North America and in Europe. He is a Maple Blues and Canadian Folk Music Award winner, and a six-time Juno Award nominee, including “Gettin’ Together” from 2023, which is a stripped-down acoustic collection of well-known and obscure blues evergreens, played live off the floor with numerous friends, including Mary Flower, Eric Bibb, John Sebastian, Harrison Kennedy, Teilhard Frost, and Happy Traum.Mary Flower’s immense finger picking guitar and lap-slide prowess is soulful and meter-perfect, a deft blend of the inventive, the dexterous and the mesmerizing. The Midwest native relocated from Denver to the vibrant Portland, Oregon music scene in in 2004, and continues to please crowds at folk festivals and concert stages domestically and abroad. Two-time finalist at the National Finger Picking Guitar Championship and Three-time nominee for a Blues Music Award, Flower embodies a luscious and lusty mix of rootsy, acoustic-blues guitar and vocal styles that span a number of idioms, from Piedmont to the Mississippi Delta, with stops in ragtime, swing, folk and hot jazz.
