Two of a Kind: Songwriters Michael Gaither and Derek Bodkin team up for a song pull of original songs, outdoors on the intimate Garden Stage: Two guys. Two guitars. Two banjos. Two cajons. Stories and laughter. Audience interaction. Antics will ensue.Michael Gaither is an award-winning songwriter, a local radio DJ and a writer for The Santa Cruz Sentinel. Many of his tunes have won or "runner'd up" several times in the Great American Song Contest. Derek leads the band Hovering Breadcat Ensemble and won the 2017 Masters of Musical Whistling competition, beating out competitors from around the world.
Both Michael and Derek have several CDs of original tunes under their belt, respectively.
For this afternoon show, they'll mix in songs from their records along with some old gems they're bringing out just for this special concert.
