Michael was a transformative cultural leader in Hampton Roads for over four decades, serving as founding director of The Hampton Arts Commission and The Hampton Arts Foundation. His vision and dedication saved and restored two of Hampton's historic treasures, The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center and The American Theatre, reinventing them as vibrant centers for world-class arts.
