Wrong Man
Wrong Man was formed in 2021 by a bunch of friends that - in one way or another - had already been playing together for years. With a shaded love for a wide range of music and a shared background in hardcore/punk, the outcome is a band that thrives on the tension between loud guitars, subtle melodies and a bluesy groove. Post Hardcore, post-punk, alt rock of MTV’s 120 minutes could all be references, but all you need to do is dive in, listen and see what you find. Wrong has a 12” EP called “Who Are You?” out now.
Pluto The Racer
Pluto The Racer, a trio from Hanover, Germany, blends melodic hardcore with '90s and early 2000s emo influences. Their 2024 self-titled EP features tracks like "Molotow" and "I Might Even," drawing inspiration from bands such as No Pressure, Basement, and Title Fight. Their sound combines energetic riffs with introspective lyrics, appealing to fans of melodic hardcore and emo genres. Seven Circle Motel A dynamic 4-piece straight out of the upcoming emo scene in Amsterdam. Their music is a captivating blend of atmospheric melodies and intense instrumentals, with a pounding kick that leaves a lasting impact. Drawing influences from the emotive power of post-punk and the energy of modern hardcore, they bring a sound that's both introspective and explosive.
Placid
From along the Rhine river comes Placid, who are here to showcase their distinct blend of Hardcore Punk. Lyrics sang in both French and English drift between holding a rough melody with snarky sharp yells, while the chorus drenched guitar wails away providing to the sharp attack delivered. The rhythm section holds it all down while relentlessly going between brisk hard-driven parts and snappy pogo beats, with the sum of all these parts leading to a sneakily catchy but intense outcome. It’s hard to put an absolute finger on what DNA makes up Placid, but I can’t help but think of it as the bastard combination between the full on chorus attack of Neon Christ, the frantic bouncing urgency of The Comes, and a little touch of melody from the French legends Camera Silens. Either way, find a chair and stick the 7” on, and discover what Placid has to offer.
32elephants
32elephants, an Amsterdam-based emo outfit, channels the spirit of '90s emo and post-hardcore, delivering loud, honest, and personal music. Drawing inspiration from Midwest emo and alternative scenes, their sound combines raw energy with melodic intricacies. Their 2024 single "New Wave Summer" exemplifies their dynamic approach, blending catchy riffs with heartfelt lyrics.
