About this Event

PLEASE SIGN UP WITH AN EMAIL THAT YOU CHECK. WE CAN ONLY COMMUNICATE TICKET INFO, LOCATION, AND PICK UP OF PIECES VIA EMAIL, AND CANNOT VIA DM OR TEXT /CALLS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE GETTING AND CHECKING OUR EMAILS FROM [email protected]

Join us for a fun 2 hours of wheel-throwing class where you will get an introduction to the world of ceramics while listening to a curated playlist by a local DJ guest (this will not be a live performance).

Check out @gabaybayy

Our class is ideal for first-timers and will cover/include:

  • The basics about clay, pottery, and how you prep the clay.
  • 3+ lbs of clay to make simple shapes like a bowl, a little vase, or an ashtray.
  • All materials, tools, and equipment (wheel) are needed.
  • During class you will have about 3 chances (time permiting and depending on each student) to make pieces and will be asked to keep your favorite 2 pieces for firing. We will fire your piece and clear-glaze them. We do not offer glazing classes at the moment.

The Vibe:

  • We invite you to join our beginner classes more for the experience rather than the outcome. Wheel Throwing is very technical, it can be super fun but also difficult for you to create pieces. Please join with no expectation regarding what you make, but to have a fun morning or afternoon with a friend, a date, or just solo time to connect with your creative side.
  • The price of the ticket includes all of the materials, the expereince, but we cannot refund your payment if your pieces do not survive the process of firing.
  • Letting go -- some pieces might not survive after the firing process, but hey life is a lesson in letting go, come just for the experience.

OUR STUDIO:

Of Course I Still Love You (OCISLY) Ceramics is a pottery brand that started in South Beach and now has its studio in Casa Mida, an oasis in the middle of Wynwood. We are creating a space that inspires you to pause, connect with your creative muse, connect with others, and explore therapeutic moments through art.

You can follow our journey and updates on future classes here:

We look forward to having you over!

Please show up on time - due to the nature of our class, we cannot allow people to join in late. Doors will remain open only 15 minutes after class starts.

OUR LOCATION

The address is 124 NE 22nd Street, Miami FL 33137 -- GPS tends to take people to 21st Street, but we are located on 22nd Street - use the MIDAS at the corner for reference. As you make your way down the street look out for a sign on your left-hand side. Once you are here, please go through the gate, and cross over to our garden next door :)

PARKING

LIMITED PARKING - We recommend catching an Uber to avoid parking. If you can, please ride-share. If you must drive, these are your options for parking:

Park inside of our property (we left the gate open) - there is only space for 10 cars in tandem parking so please try to use the space wisely to give others the chance to park too.

If our front yard is full try paid street parking. There are spots on the corner of 22nd street and NE 2nd avenue -- or -- on 22nd street between NE 2nd Ave and Biscayne Blvd.

Watch out for residential-only parking areas as you will get towed.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

We understand that things can come up at the last minute, which is why we offer a cancellation policy: we can only refund your ticket price if you give us a cancellation notice at least 24 hours before your class.

Cancellations any time after that will not be refunded.

We are happy to reschedule your class for a different time depending on availability if you give us a 24-hour warning prior to the class. You can do so by emailing us at [email protected].

THE AFTERMATH:

Please be patient, pottery takes time!

The process to prepare your pieces takes about 6 weeks. Please be patient and do not contact us until then. We are a small team trying to process pieces as fast as Ceramics can be processed, and it is hard for us to keep up with incoming communications. Thank you for your patience!
