Welcome to the MIAA 31st Annual Conference 2025! This year's theme is Soundscapes – Connect Co-Create Expand.
The conference theme Soundscapes invites us to explore topics such as:
● Exploring the dynamic interplay of connection, creativity, and expansion in GIM practice
● Honouring Helen Bonny’s foundational principles while embracing emerging musical and cultural influences
● Considerations of musical elements in shaping the therapeutic process in GIM practice
● How soundscapes—including nature sounds, spontaneous improvisation, and diverse musical genres can be utilised in GIM practice
● Music’s transformative role in emotional and spiritual healing
● The intersection of diverse clinical presentations and modifications of music psychotherapeutic techniques
