Join the York illustrators meet-up for colourful character-making!
This month we’re taking inspiration from the vibrant world of Alebrijes, the fantastical Mexican folk art creatures that mix animals, patterns, imagination and folklore.
We’ll share a bit about Alebrijes, artist Pedro Linares, and the mythology and symbolism behind the designs. Then, let your imagination run wild!
Expect to create playful creatures, mythical beasts, and brand-new friends to fill your sketchbook.
Bring your favourite (colourful!) drawing tools and something to draw on
Free as always (but ticketed so we can plan numbers!)
Come and explore Mexican folklore, fantasy, and colourful fun with a group of fellow illustrators for a bright, imaginative evening.
About Drawvik
Drawvik is a meet up group for illustrators in and around York and is part of the network of illustrator meet-ups supported by the AOI.
Open to illustrators of all backgrounds and career stages. Drawvik is a supportive, lively hub to share inspirations, exercise some creative muscles and connect with like-minded folks.
