About this Event
Calling all 12 - 15 year old young changemakers! If you want to make a difference for people, animals, and the environment then join the Metrowest Roots & Shoots Clubs! We are holding a kick-off event where we will introduce you to the Youth Club of the Jane Goodall Institute. At this first meeting we will learn a little about Roots and Shoots, do some activiities to learn about each other and our interests, start our community profile of Metrowest to help us choose local projects, learn a little about the JGI/Roots & Shoots model for leadership, and do a small project to help some others. We will also be collecting availability and interest info from both young people and caregivers for future meeting scheduling . A caregiver is asked to bring each young person into the meeting in order to complete an emergency information form, but then it is recommended that the kids stay by themselves for this club in order to allow them to be themselves (kids in this age range often feel having a parent there hampers their ability to express who they are). But for this first meeting parents/caregivers are also very welcome to stay!
When you arrive at the 266 Framingham Building please use the intercom (located at the entrance off the parking lot on the East Side and at the entrance directly on Waverly St) and dial in Apt 262 and you will be given access and info about where in the building we are meeting. Looking forward to having you!
