Don't miss My Path to 200 MPH with Michael Kelly, past national chairman of the Ferrari Club of America & member of Cincinnati Concours d’Elegance Foundation board of directors, at the Metropolitan Club, high atop the RiverCenter Towers along the Roebling Bridge in Covington.
Ferraris are among the world’s most expensive sportscars, with new ones starting at approximately $200,000 and some vintage models worth much more. In 2018, a 1963 Ferrari GTO sold for a record $70 million.
"There is a misconception that only the wealthy can own Ferraris," says Kelly. “Some pre-owned Ferraris are in the price range of many typical sedans, and if you work on them, ownership becomes pretty easy. I bought my first Ferrari for $28,000 and spent four-and-a-half years restoring it.”
Kelly has owned a 1990 Ferrari Testarossa, which he often races at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. With his seat belt on, of course.
