๐๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฒ: Esteemed live accompanist Brett Miller will join us in theater to provide a live original score to Fritz Langโs silent classic, METROPOLIS. The version of the film we will be screening is the 2010 full restoration, which adds 25 minutes of unseen footage back to the film.
A hugely influential silent film โ and a blueprint for future sci-fi classics like Blade Runner and The Matrix โ Fritz Langโs visionary film is set in a futuristic city sharply divided between the workers and the ruling elite, when the son of the cityโs mastermind falls in love with a working-class prophet who foresees a future where both classes are joined together. You owe it to yourself to witness the true cinematic power of METROPOLIS on the big screen! Silent w/ live accompaniment.
