Methven Minstrels Choir was created by Elaine Finlay in March 2024.She and her husband Ian moved to Methven in 2021. As a retired music teacher who loves to lead choral singing, she was keen to see if anyone would be interested in helping her start a local choir.
The response was wonderful and so the Methven Minstrels were born!
The Minstrels sing a varied selection of songs from Cole Porter and Gershwin to show songs, spirituals and popular classics.
Rehearsals are held every Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in The Methven Community Centre. Refreshments are provided about 8.30pm.
Membership is extended to anyone who has an interest in singing.
The Choir needs more MEN to come along and join in the fun of singing. No previous experience necessary, but it may help.
The group is a happy bunch and enjoy learning the ropes from their talented and lovely teacher, Elaine.
The Coffee Morning will be the Choir’s first performance in public. Please come along and support Elaine and the Minstrels in their new venture.
It is hoped the group will grow and go from strength to strength.
