Metamorphosis: Drawing with Frit
Kate Clements
Fused Glass
Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12
10:00am - 6:00pm Each Day
$850
In this workshop students will experiment with frits, often considered an accessory glass, and make it the centerpiece of the work. We will utilize simple tools to create complex patterns and images. We will work within a range of temperatures to capture textures and gestures of the hand, experiment with unconventional slumping to create form, and light and shadow to create depth. Demonstrations and discussions will show how to push the boundaries of fragility, possibilities of scale, and the potential of material transformation. Students should bring reference images to translate into glass.
