137 is a sludge/doom metal band originally formed in 1996 in the woods of northern Michigan before eventually relocating to Rochester, NY, where they continue to create heavy, unpolished, and uncompromising music. Led by bassist and vocalist Keith Baughman, the band has built a reputation for raw “caveman metal,” blending crushing riffs with introspective and existential themes that explore inner conflict, societal decay, and the darker corners of human nature. Over the years, 137 has navigated multiple lineup shifts while producing a steady body of work, including Product of the Environment (2001), Force Controlled Culture (2005), The Greatest Depression (2020), and the 2024 compilation Prey to Your Deception, released through Heaven And Hell Records.
