The Woman’s Club of Wisconsin is pleased to be hosting a program with Meta House to promote Project Horizon, a $34.5M campus relocation and expansion project that will offer hope and healing to hundreds more families annually for generations to come.
Founded in 1963, Meta House has long been a pioneer in empowering women to overcome substance use disorder and helping them and their children thrive in recovery by providing comprehensive, family-centered treatment. Meta House was one of the first residential treatment programs in the nation to welcome children into the treatment setting and receive therapeutic and supportive services alongside their mothers.
For years, the need for the services Meta House provides has outpaced the capacity of its programs. Unfortunately, the organization often maintains a 3-6 month wait list for its services due to capacity constraints; in fact, some Milwaukee County estimates show that 68% of the women in need of and ready for treatment can’t access it for lack of availability.
