About this Event
The Inland Empire chapter of Kapoeira N'gola Preto Velho, in partnership with California Humanities and the CIELO Fund invites you to:
MESSAGES FROM A MESTRE: A roundtable discussion on how the intellectual and physical aspects of the African-rooted art of capoeira can enhance the boldness, strategy, and leadership effectiveness in our respective communities.
Featuring: Mestre Themba Mashama – The trailblazer and first African American to master both the Angola and Regional styles of capoeira.
This is more than a workshop; it’s a celebration of cultural perseverance and empowerment. Mestre Themba’s journey is groundbreaking—conquering language barriers and overcoming cultural hesitation to master capoeira’s two major styles. His story resonates deeply with the themes of resistance and unity embedded in this Afro-Brazilian art form.
