A Latter-day Saint Stake Conference is a twice per year meeting, of members from multiple congregations (8-12 congregations calledwards) within a geographic area known as astakeofThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The term “stake” comes from Isaiah 54:2 in the Bible: “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes .” This scripture uses the image of a tent —where stakes are driven into the ground to anchor and stabilize the structure. In a spiritual sense, the Church uses this metaphor to describe how stakes support and strengthen the expanding “tent” or kingdom of God on earth . What Happens at a Stake Conference? Stake conferences are spiritual gatherings that typically include: Speeches and personal stories from leaders and special guests Instruction and inspiration on gospel topics such as faith in Jesus Christ, family life, missionary work, and service. Music from stake choirs or congregational hymns. Leadership training (usually during a special Saturday session for leaders) Everyone is welcome to join us for an inspiring weekend!
