Since last hitting Bournemouth in 2023, Meryl’s been on a serious mission:
After dropping debut album “796” in 2022 that confronted the abuses of the Catholic Church, corruption, and grief with brutal honesty and raw energy, 2024 saw Meryl release the critically acclaimed follow-up, "Songs for the Deceased". Covering betrayal, murder and injustice, his latest album takes aim at systemic failures within our political and social systems, exploring these abuses with even more raw power and emotional depth.
Extensive touring across Ireland, the UK, and Europe (including upcoming appearances at 2000 Trees, ArcTanGent and Damnation festivals) — earning a reputation for incendiary live shows that are equal parts punk chaos, confrontation and cathartic release.
Sharing the stage with heavy hitters including Public Image LTD, Kneecap, Dead Kennedys, Bob Vylan, Benefits and many more — he's cemented his place as a fierce, outspoken voice in modern avantgarde punk. Picking up praise and support from the likes of Kerrang!, The Guardian, NME, and BBC 6Music, who’ve all hailed him as one of the most vital underground voices to emerge in years.
Portsmouth two-piece Body Crisis are special guests for the evening. Bringing raw, urgent noise and razor-sharp intensity. Fierce riffs, punishing drums and unflinching lyrics. Their sound lands somewhere between noise rock, hardcore and metallic distortion with songs about climate collapse, substance abuse, existential dread... Expect blistering drumming, raw vocals, and guitar tones that crack like broken glass.
Local gothic purveyor, Jose Lugosi opens the night with a set of fiercely original, darkly charged songs. A musical entertainer who writes, composes, and sings with raw intensity, Lugosi combines stylish presentation with a commanding stage presence and the ever-present potential for savagery.
