  • Merienda Snacks at Sunset: Experience the magic of a light early evening meal, known as Merienda, against the backdrop of a stunning sunset at George Genereux Urban Regional Park. As a bit of a potluck, bring your own snack or indulge in the delicious treats provided by fellow attendees as we come together to enjoy good food and great company.
  • Bringing Communities Together: At the heart of the Pollinator Picnic is the belief that food has the power to unite communities. Whether you're sharing a meal with friends, family, or strangers, every bite fosters a sense of connection and belonging. Let's celebrate diversity and kindness one picnic at a time.
  • Honoring Important Observances: Our event coincides with several significant observances, including International Picnic Day, National Pollinator Week, International Day for Countering Hate Speech, Autistic Pride Day, and Sustainable Gastronomy Day. By bringing these themes together, we hope to raise awareness and promote positive change in our community.
  • Appreciation for Nature's Pollinators: Bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects play a crucial role in our ecosystem and food production. As part of the Pollinator Picnic, we invite attendees to bring a snack for their favorite pollinator, whether it be a jar of honey, a bouquet of flowers, or a simple dish made with pollinator-friendly ingredients.
  • More Ideas to Come: Stay tuned for additional ideas and activities that will make the Pollinator Picnic a truly unforgettable experience. There's something for everyone to enjoy at this one-of-a-kind event.
