Et band, der blander talrige genrer, og vrider dem ind i nye fantastiske konstruktioner. Pop, tropicalia og latinamerikansk folk blandes med syret jazz og avantgarde på utroligt medrivende vis, og Meridian Brothers har tilmed et fantastisk live-ry. Det har vi selv fået bekræftet både på Roskilde Festival og ved flere anledninger på Global og ALICE.
Meridian Brothers startede i 2007 og har ikke stået stille siden. De har spillet utallige koncerter rundt i verden på prominente festivaler, ligesom de har høstet fremragende anmeldelser og er blevet hyldet af flere magasiner som et af Colombias mest interessante bands. Ikke mindst har de udgivet en lang række albums, og de er aldrig bange for at eksperimentere på nye måder og bringe latinamerikansk folk i spil i nye konstellationer med skæve cumbia-rytmer, boblende synthesizer og syrede sangstrukturer. Altid på både ambitiøs og humoristisk vis. Psychedelic, imaginative, and unpredictable. Such is the sound of the boundary-pushing band Meridian Brothers from Bogotá, Colombia. A band that mixes numerous genres and twists them into new fantastic constructions. Pop, tropicalia, and Latin American folk are mixed with psychedelic jazz and avant-garde in an incredibly captivating way, and the Meridian Brothers also have a fantastic live reputation. We have witnessed this ourselves both at Roskilde Festival and on several occasions at Global and ALICE.
