The Mercury Retros are about to reboot! Read on for all the info:When: Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 pm, Sept 5th-Dec 5th, 2024. Starting on the 5th, practices are every Thursday evening in Sept, Oct, and November, excepting Halloween and Thanksgiving!
Level: Intermediate. You should be able to comfortably execute a swing out to a medium tempo song (170bpm), know basic 6ct and 8ct patterns, and are comfortable learning some easy air-steps and lifts. Air-steps are not required for every partnership.
Performance opportunities: Our goal is to perform at the 1940's Winter Ball all on Saturday, December 7th. Performers for this event will be selected based on partnerships and the students' readiness to perform. There will also be additional performance opportunities around town for those who do not get selected for the 1940's ball!
Cost: Dues will be $70/month, $50/month Student rate (with current school I.D.) per dancer, or $200 for the full session (saves you $10) or $150 Student rate
Studio Policy: Our studio space has a strict NO OUTDOOR SHOES policy. Please wear appropriate footwear (either dance or gym shoes) that are clean of debris and pebbles. We do not want to damage the floors! Also, NO FOOD AND BEVERAGES other than water in the studio!
Registration: You don't need to have a partner to sign up, but if you wish to work with a specific partner, please let us know! We will be rotating during class. Partnerships for each performance will be assigned based on fit and readiness to perform.
