Merced College Fine Arts is hosting a new exhibition from artist Mido VinceFunctionally Divergent is a multidisciplinary art exhibition exploring the artist’s lived experience with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Complex PTSD, revealing how trauma and recovery shape the central nervous system, identity, and embodiment. Drawing on Jungian theory and neuroplasticity, the works capture moments within a nonlinear healing process while engaging themes of ability, boundaries, and disability justice. Through personal narrative and creative expression, the exhibition challenges stigma and invites greater understanding and advocacy for these often-misunderstood conditions.
